Mehdi Alfti, the prominent Iranian gymnast, achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the gold medal at the 2025 Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in South Korea.
In the vault event, Alfti secured the first place with a score of 14.5, making him the first Iranian gymnast to earn an Asian medal.
The silver medal in this competition went to Hwang Min-ki from China, while the bronze was awarded to Carlos Yulo from the Philippines.
The 2025 Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships took place from June 2 to 8 in Jecheon, South Korea. With this victory, Olfati has etched Iran’s name into the history of Asian gymnastics.
